9/3/15 Tanglewood

Hot and humid again so I was looking for another hike with water.

Kelley is behind near the start as there are a lot of scents to explore- we haven't been here in some time.

I thought she would have to wait for the river for water but there was a small stream that still had water.

Sign of things to come.

She is now leading as we near the river

The water was quite low - as it is everywhere we go

The trail along the river

We came to a spot difficult for Kelley and turned back

and went the other way - no place for Kelley to get in but I found some pretty berries.

Back in the river

Time to head back

An unusual color

Back in the stream

Wet dog on the way out

A pleasant spot even with the heat and humidity. We got in 1  3/4 hours but didn't cover much ground as Kelley was more interested in the river than the trails. She seemed to do well

  1. That is an unusual color for a fungi. I love this time of year, especially with all the moisture we've gotten here. There is an incredible variety of fungi right now, in every size, shape, and color.
Loved the colorful leaf as well.
    Have a good weekend, John

    1. Thank you Sue- it's still very dry here - last year when we were here there were many varieties of fungi. Good weekend to you too.
