Another pretty day. Last fall when hiking Harbor Brook we met some men putting logs across the stream as part of a new trail that would connect the Thuya gardens and Little Long Pond. We decided to see how much progress had been made. The new section starts where the trail to the gardens meets the Eliot Mt. trail. We followed it down and it was in good shape.
This pretty section was easier to walk than it looks.
Part way down the trail merges with the old trail down from Eliot and takes you to to the stream. The bridge is almost done.
Kelley was more interested in the stream
We crossed the stream to see what was happening with the rest of the trail. We found some flagging tape which probably indicates the route the trail will take but no other work. When we came to some large downed trees we gave it up and headed down the trail.
The stream was fairly low.
but there were pools enough for Kelley
Another shot of the trail
We walked on out to the road and the short distance to our car. It had been a nice hike. Kelley seemed to be feeling well and enjoying the hike. We met no one.
1 1/2 hours
