This is the fourth day of rain. When it got to just a drizzle for awhile we went downtown for a bit and walked around. Kelley doesn't usually get as excited about town as she does about the woods but she was just glad to be out somewhere besides the neighborhood. There were even a few people about for her to greet and one dog. We didn't stay long as the rain soon picked up again.
There are even still some flowers
Some of the other things we saw
Tomorrow it's not supposed to rain and we are to get some sun and warmer temps. Trying to think of a place to hike that won't be too soggy.

A thousand years ago, when I was a kid, my mom used to make us be outside no matter what the weather was---she used to say "you can't waste a day, no matter how ugly and gray" . I'm glad she did that, because I appreciate the beauty in all kinds of weather. I think you capture that as well in your photos.
ReplyDeleteHope you have some sunny days ahead........
Thank you Sue- I think your mother was right
DeleteNice flower pics! It's always good to get outside, even in crummy weather.
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda- it is good to get out and you get such nice saturated colors on a day like this
DeleteHi there ... I just moved to mdi a few months ago and am enjoying your blog tremendously. Looking forward to see it unfold ... though i'm sad to see winter looming because the hiking has been incredible. today we hiked boyd road thanks to your blog, and came down s. cadillac trail. Wonderful.
ReplyDeleteHi Bk - thank you for commenting- there are other nice abandoned trails- Pot Holes is really nice though a bit more difficult to find. If you are looking for specific trails or areas use the search function in the upper left corner. Also lots of good hiking in winter
Deletethe suggestion is great, thank you! Will definitely give pot holes a go! i really love the feeling of trails that are not as heavily hiked.
DeleteThere are some nice trails near Franklin - out Rte.182- not far from Ellsworth that we rarely meet anyone on- Tunk Mt. has fabulous views Also nice and near Tunk are Catherine Mt. and Hidden Ponds .
