Gray overcast skies when we left home but the sun was out when we arrived at the island. It was, however, quite foggy on the island
Kelley immediately headed for the water
The fog soon burned off. Kelley did not seem very enthusiastic about this hike but followed along. We met two women with two dogs and that perked her up a bit.
The shore is always different and there wasn't much to photograph today. There are some odd things now and then.
I did find some interesting barnacles and a pretty butterfly ( with damaged wing )
We got off the shore at the Blue Trail and Kelley became more enthusiastic. We took that to the gravel road and then to the Homestead Trail. We had no deer flies until the gravel road and then only a handful- perhaps we will soon be rid of them.
On the Homestead Trail Kelley found a small pool.
A pretty good hike in spite of Kelley's initial lack of enthusiasm. Temps if the upper 60.s to lower 70's. sunshine and almost no deer flies . 2 1/2 hours
I love walking along a foggy seashore. Nice shots of the butterflies!
