A little warmer and more humid but still a pretty nice day. I didn't feel like a long drive so we went to nearby City Forest There were almost no deer flies on the West Trail, a few more on the side trail. and more on the rail bed- but still many fewer than last time we were here.
We started from the end of Kittredge Rd. and walked across the meadow to the beaver pond.
Floating on the pond
Two versions of the same chicory
Lots of butterflies but skittish and hard to get close to.
Some of the other things we saw
Another chicory
Hoverfly
There were lots of walkers, a couple of bikers, and two runners, but no dogs. Kelley was happy to meet the people and there was still lots of water so all in all pretty good for her. 2 hours
Wow - lots of great photos from your hike! I love the close ups of the blue flower! Nice! You must be using a macro lens.
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda- yes lots about that day. I have a 100mm macro- the distance makes it easier to not spook the insects.
