12/9/10 Canon Brook
A relatively short hike on trails. Started out cold, gray, and windy but as we got into the woods the wind calmed and the sun came out. We started from the Dorr Ladder trail head on Rte. 3 but turned onto the Kane Path which turns into the Canon Brook. Fewer pics today as I spent more time looking down to check the footing.
Kelley loves the snow and seems not to be bothered by the cold.
We took the Dorr Mt. extension-one of the old trails that is no longer maintained but someone had preceded us and it's an easy pleasant walk.
At Otter Creek we turned and came back the way we had come.
At Canon Brook we continued on ( after meeting a nice man on his way up Cadillac) to the A. Murray Young Path but only went a short distance before turning to retrace our steps.
A nice hike with only a little ankle discomfort.

Kelley's coat looks blacker now than earlier in the year. The snow photographs nicely in dappled sunlight.
ReplyDeleteHi John--her coat is darker but not really black-something about the contrast I think.
