Finding Trail Descriptions

So as not to repeat myself excessively, I am reducing the amount of description of trails that have already been posted. Please use the search function ( upper left) to find older posts which have more detailed trail descriptions and pictures. You can also use this to find specific hikes either by trail or mountain.

5/18/17 Harbor Brook

Forecast for today in Bangor is for 91 degrees but two weather sites say only 71 at Acadia so that's where we headed. This turned out to be wrong as it was 85 when we finished the hike.

Into the water first thing. You can see trees that have fallen across the stream - there were a lot of them.

They are rerouting the trail because of problems with erosion.

Only flowers today - a small bush

Again you can see trees across the stream

I had to search for clear shots of the stream

Lots of new bog bridges

Some nice ripples.

A nice hour and a half in the woods. Kelley did well and was very happy with all the water

  3. I love your photos, John, because you take shots that I would take :) I do enjoy watching the scenery in your part of the world start with tiny green sprigs and grow as you return to the trails later. And, of course, watching Kelley in the water and enjoying herself is always great to see!
