Finding Trail Descriptions

So as not to repeat myself excessively, I am reducing the amount of description of trails that have already been posted. Please use the search function ( upper left) to find older posts which have more detailed trail descriptions and pictures. You can also use this to find specific hikes either by trail or mountain.

1/5/17 Glenburn Trails - again

Rained most of yesterday and then froze last night so we have lots of ice and iffy trail conditions.  Checked a snowmobile trail but it hadn't been used  so we went back to Glenburn but went west rather than east. Mid twenties, sunny, and windy but we were mostly in the woods which protected us and it was pleasant.

Start of the trail- no use since rain except by deer. There was a very firm crust that supported both of us and was not slippery.

The snow on the trees has been turned to ice

When we reached this stream I was hesitant to cross and just a bit further we would come to the Kenduskeag and no way try that so we turned back.

Waiting for me to get moving again

Kelley was behind me much of the way - not as energetic or enthusiastic today. I wonder if she wasn't as fond of the surface as I was.

In this picture you can see how hard the surface was ; our tracks are barely visible.

One more leaf

A pretty good outing on a pretty day. 1 1/2 hours

  1. Nice outing--good solid surface to walk on always helps.
Our weather has been wishy washy as well. Rain. Snow. It can't seem to decide . About the only thing for sure is those awful winds all the time. It's like being back in Illinois..........
