Finding Trail Descriptions

So as not to repeat myself excessively, I am reducing the amount of description of trails that have already been posted. Please use the search function ( upper left) to find older posts which have more detailed trail descriptions and pictures. You can also use this to find specific hikes either by trail or mountain.

4/2/16 City Forest

Forty degrees and cloudy with rain forecast. We headed out to get one in before it started again - lots of rain last night.

We started from the end of Kittredge Rd. and across the meadow and down to the beaver pond.

It's finally ice free

Then the West Trail

There was lots of water for Kelley

On to some side trails, trying to find a way around the section they closed.

We ended up on the old railbed

Then onto more trails we were not familiar with and the route on the map above is just a guess.

We had to backtrack some and eventually ended up at the section that had been closed ( trees cut down to block the trail) . At that point we just bushwhacked around the obstructing trees and came to the stream Kelley likes and then continued back to West.

Once more into the beaver pond on the way out

Turned out pretty well. Kelley was more energetic than yesterday, we met a few  people, and there was water everywhere. The rain didn't start until we were almost to the car. 1  1/2 hours

  1. Always good to have the rain hold off until you're done.
Nice to see no snow---though when I'm done with ours today-I'm sending the leftovers to you. Don't want you to get spoiled!!!
    Ha!

    1. Hi Sue - you may not have to send any - we have a chance of some today and then several days of 30's with teens at night - getting old

  2. I really like the picture where the trees are reflected in the water.
