Rained most of yesterday and was still sprinkling this morning but supposed to clear. Hoped by the time we got to the hike it would be clear. It mostly was but there were off and on light sprinkles and a mix of clouds and sun.
Obligatory shot of the pond - no ice !
Kelley was able to get in at her usual spot
There was also water along the trail
I was looking for a little color
When we got to the intersection of the West Side and Jordan Stream Trails the water was deep enough for Kelley to swim.
Jordan Stream - no ice
The Cobblestone Bridge where we stop for an apple break and then climb up to the carriage road to head back
Kelley was slowing down by this point and I'm thinking an hour and a half may be the right amount for her.
Just some leaves hanging on.
Good hike - the sprinkles, though on and off, were not enough to be a problem except I had to protect my camera at times. Kelley did very well until she slowed down near the end. She was in the water many times. 2 hours
Beautiful forest scenes, and I love the old stone bridge.
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda - the only cobblestone bridge of the 17 on the carriage roads
DeleteIt is the time of year that color is hard to come by--but soon, very soon we'll start getting those peeks of green.
ReplyDeleteI think an hour and a half is good for all--Kelley has the right idea!
Have a great day
Thanks for your comment Sue = It's hard for me to figure what's best for my girl
DeleteI bet Kelley is loving all that open water.
ReplyDeleteYou are right Kim- this is her favorite trail and this was the first time in awhile that it was ice free
