Warmer- upper 30s and an inch or two of new snow. No one has yet been on the trail behind the house so after I cleared the drive we drove a short distance to a trail that links up with our unused trail. There had been little use of this trail in spite of a good amount of snow and none of the bare spots we had encountered at the park yesterday. It was a bit of a slog but we walked to where the trails connect and it was no better there and we turned back. We then drove to the end of Fox Hollow Road to trails that lead to a nice trail through the woods. Huge piles of snow all around the cull-de-sac and after I climbed over the trails were also soft and not worth the struggle to get Kelley over them. Next stop Walden. there had been some snowshoers and skiers so not too bad.
This trail was pretty good and we met Sophie and her owner and the dogs got to play for a bit. We continued on in our friends track
until we came to where she had turned back and we did too. We then walked the other part of the loop to the old rail bed where we turned back again and returned to the car. A bit frustrating but Kelley did mange to get her exercise ( and me too)
Yup..that light, fluffy snow has changed consistency for sure..
