We started from the parking area at the north end of Breakneck Road and followed that to the ponds. I took this picture across the ponds because of the variety of shades of green.
We then crossed over to the carriage road to make a loop back to Hull's Cove. Though we had met no one on the Breakneck, there were lots of people ( and a couple of dogs) on the carriage road- biking and walking. Kelley enjoys meeting people almost as much as other dogs so she was very excited.
I think this pond may have been caused by the work of beavers and the water killed the trees that had been living there. It provided some interest for me photographically and for Kelley for swimming.
Witch Hole Pond - a little further on is larger and, I believe , older.
This was a nice hike which took us 2 hours.
