The start of the Dorr S. Ridge Trail was easy going

but as we ascended it became more icy and several times we had to work around large ice patches ( Kelley doesn't like ice either). When we reached the summit it was quite windy and cold and we had to find a sheltered spot to have our apple before turning back and returning the way we had come.
Lichens of the day were on the Canon Brook Trail

An enjoyable hike in spite of the ice which was a bit nervous making. 3-1/2 hours
Fabulous closeups.
ReplyDeleteThanks, John. The lichens were for you.
ReplyDeleteThe lichens are like aerial photos...or modern art paintings.
ReplyDeleteYes, they do. It amazes me how many varieties there are.
