1/6/15 City Forest

Cold - 3 below when we got up and about 4 degrees when we started. Luckily they were wrong about predicted high winds with wind chills of 30 below- there was no wind !

We started from the Kittredge Rd. lot and walked the West Trail - there had been some traffic - probably yesterday as we only met one man this morning - which made fairly easy walking and there was no ice. Also, alas, no water for Kelley.

No one had been on the rail bed nor, we noticed as we passed them, our side trails.

We decided  to take the easy route via Main and the Loop Rd. which had been plowed

and then a very short trail back to west to complete our loop. We met a skier just starting as we finished and she gave Kelley some attention which made her happy. Not as bad as anticipated - we made very good time - a brisk pace, few pictures, and no swimming. 1  1/2 hours
