3/18/13 Sears Island

Cold (teens) and windy but sunny. In the mood for something different and the tides were right so it was off to Sears Island.

Kelley immediately headed for the water

We started off along the shore and found there was a fair amount of ice- most easily got around- but where the ocean came up to the woods there was ice to maneuver across- the banks are steep and high

and saw a few interesting things

This formation was taller than me.

The shore just before we turned inland on the Blue Trail

The Blue Trail took us to the gravel road and that to the Homestead Trail and back to the shore  for lunch and a final dip before heading home.

Not a long hike but interesting enough  2  1/4 hours
