I am retired and have been doing a lot of hiking with my dog Kelley. Kelley has done all the peaks in Acadia National Park as well as those in Camden and the Donnell Pond and Monteville area. We have also done Big and Little Moose, Petit Manan and the Cutler Coast. We hope that other hikers will share hikes they have enjoyed.

2/2/13 Marsh Island
Cold ( 11 degrees) but sunny with little wind. We started from Hillside St. and as is often the case, were not able to follow the map ( there are many trails not on the map and few trail markers). We ended up in peoples back yards and a new road with house where Kelley briefly got to play with another dog. Eventually we came across a familiar trail that took us to the river and we walked along it for a short while before turning back. On the way back we had the same problem and eventually just bushwhacked out to Penobscot St. where Kelley met two more dogs. After a short while on Penobscot we cut across and picked up the trail back to where we had parked. Though a little frustrating a pretty good 2 hour outing. There were lots of patches of ice on the trails so rather than looking around me I was often watching where I stepped.
