1/2/16 City Forest

Sunny and 31 degrees. A different route today - a friend told us the trails were well packed ( and they were) but the meadow had little traffic and avoiding that,  we started from the other parking lot.

We still had to go down to the beaver pond which was frozen

But there was a little water which runs out of the end of the pond

The trails were in good shape

A small pool which Kelley made use of - messed up that picture.

At the end of West Trail we went down to check the rail bed but only a skier had been on it.

So we took Main Rd. which is usually plowed but not today, so a bit of a slog. Kelley used the ski tracks.

The loop Road had been plowed -  easy walking

Then a little side trail and we were back on West to return. Kelly takes a break while I take a picture.

A nice hike on a pretty day.  The last few times we were here Kelley was not enthusiastic but she was today - different starting point? she likes variety. We also met several people and dogs and that made her happy 1  3/4 hours
