11/6/15 Newman Hill-Hinds

Cloudy and cool but no wind so it was pretty good hiking. A friend went with us which meant more talking and less picture taking. Kelley seemed enthusiastic-  she probably remembered there is water here.

A small pond beside Black Pond - easy for her to get in and out.

A plant beside the pond.

and Black Pond to our right as we bushwhacked from the trail to the old rail bed

Pine Pond has two sections and is at the end of a small spur trail

some grasses along the pond edge

We then followed the old rail bed to where it is flooded due to beaver activity.

and then we headed back, staying on the trail rather than the bushwhack between the ponds. A nice hike - we enjoyed and Kelley seemed to do well 1  3/4 hours

  1. It's nice to have company once in a while to walk. As long as Kelley has her water, I'm sure she didn't care!

    1. Yes it is - Kelley like people almost as much as water. She has to greet everyone we meet

  2. Definately looks like November. It's always amazing to me how that transforms almost overnight. I have one tree in my yard that is in full glory. It looks ridiculous in all our bare and bleak landscape.
    Have a great weekend, John

    1. It does seem to happen quickly and then we know what's coming.
