4/7/15 DeMeritt Forest

Yesterday Kelley was not feeling well and didn't want to hike so we did a short walk around the neighborhood. On Sunday I had caught her eating something beside the trail and it obviously didn't agree with her. Today she was her old self.

Thirty degrees cloudy and about 3 inches of new snow with rain possible this afternoon. Nearby DeMeritt seemed like the place to try. We Started from the Sewall Rd. entrance and the chain was down and a truck had been on the road but no one else.

We found that no one had been on the side trails either. The surface under the snow was firm so the footing was good and the new  snow made the woods beautiful.

A peaceful beautiful hike. Though Kelley seemed fine I didn't want to push it so we did an hour and a half
