9/1/13 City Forest

On and off rain yesterday and more forecast for today. Yesterday we just went downtown for a brief walk- even Kelley was not enthusiastic. No pictures. Today we went to City Forest with a friend and her two dogs after the rain stopped and it held off for our hike. Lots of water for the dogs and they seemed happy to be out in the woods. It was a nice hike for us too- comfortable temps and very few bugs. We managed to get in an hour and three quarters which was good for all of us.

Only one picture and I don't know this plant



 As I write this ( 9/2)   it's raining again.

    It's a good thing that Kelley likes water. I drove up from New York in today's deluge. Kelley can swim, John, but you will need a kayak.

    Wow - that's an unusual flower. Very pretty shade of purple. Sorry, I don't know what it is either.
