11/7/12 Marsh Island

Cold, mostly cloudy, snow predicted later. Nearby Marsh Island area in Orono. This time we started from the end of Penobscot St.

I got into the  milkweed ( there was a lot of it in the fields near the river) but also saw some other things.

When we got to the river we walked that trail ( road) to the end in Old Town. We didn't meet anyone but Kelley liked being out there and there was lots of water ( streams and  pools ) for her to get into- the river was high and swift and she only just barely got in it as swift water does not appeal to her.  A nice 2 hour hike.
