Finding Trail Descriptions

So as not to repeat myself excessively, I am reducing the amount of description of trails that have already been posted. Please use the search function ( upper left) to find older posts which have more detailed trail descriptions and pictures. You can also use this to find specific hikes either by trail or mountain.

7/20/15 Essex Woods

Hot and humid with a possibility of rain.  Decided on a quick visit to Essex Woods.

One dog in the dog park but Kelley wasn't interested in it and we headed down the trail to the old rail bed.

Little breeze and overcast made for good conditions for shooting flowers.

 Pretty but unknown berries

Of course Kelley found some water

There are some wet lands that Kelley doesn't use because the banks from the rail bed are too steep.

I think a small thistle

Just clover

There was a nice patch of daylilies

 and lots of chicory

Neither of us was energetic so we just spent about an hour and headed home to try and stay cool.

  1. Morning John, I'm not sure if you've seen this: https://www.facebook.com/events/487052534782647/

This is the text: "Submit your photo (taken in Bangor’s Wild Back Yard on a BLT preserve) before Wednesday, July 22. Winner selected on Friday, July 24. Prize is a $10 Verve gift card. Send photos to info@bangorlandtrust.org.

Away that week? Want another chance to win? We’ll have another contest the last week in July. Photos submitted by July 29 will be announced July 31. Win a $10 Harvest Moon Deli gift card!"

Anyway, I figured you'd have a good shot to submit and a good shot to win!
